Kate Mara与Emma Watson一样身上有着极强的直女感。床戏很足但感情线相当不令人信服。故事的重心其实落在了这个破碎家庭的无望上，孩子拒绝相信母亲被父亲谋杀而把青春奉献给无罪奔波和反死抗议，扒开腿挺进嫩苞处破苞疼的最后得知真相与目击死刑的时刻都太残忍了。废死与正义这两个群体的生活视角很新颖。
4.5; I would've given five stars if not for the ending; then again maybe its banality was intended exactly as a mockery on McKee? (not sure if I should keep on reading McKee's book after watching this film...) The ultimate meta-cinema. Every material used (including, and especially the self-loathing part) is from this world, yet when Kaufman pieces them together into a film it turns out to be so bizarre and out of this world.
